Sometimes people have said to me, ‘I’d be interested to hear some of your music.’ This normally ends up with me assembling a collection of my songs with ‘High Fidelity’ style intensity, obsessing over the perfect mix.

Most of the ‘singles’ from my Melbourne EPs and records never end up on these collections. I don’t know why, but after time passes some songs fade into nothingness while others stay with you, rarely those you have given most of your time and attention to. These are some songs that have stayed with me.

'Edison' was originally part of the 'Six Sketches Berlin 2010' recordings, but I was dissatisfied with the vocal track at the time, so I re-recorded it a year later.

'We Ride' was completely finished in Melbourne in 2009, but I couldn't find a place for it on any of the albums I was working on at the time, even though I liked the song.

'Closing Time' and 'It Happens All the Time' are taken from 'Five Songs' and 'Urchin' respectively. Both tracks underwent some minor remixing and remastering. 'Silly Billy' is the same version that appears on 'Urchin'.

'Friedrichshain' is a fully instrumented version of the original 'Six Sketches Berlin 2010' recording. This version includes bass and electric guitar.

'Goulds' was partially completed in Melbourne in 2009, but I was dissatisfied with the final mix so I added some vocal parts in 2011 and distorted the bass.
