This seven song collection was completed in mid 2013 in Berlin, but most of the songs began in different places and times.

'Violent Day', 'Over the Ashes' and 'Oben/Unten' are the only three songs that I wrote for this album in 2012, and were all recorded in the Scharnweberstrasse apartment.

'Great Pretender' was an instrumental that I recorded some years earlier in Melbourne, to which I added the vocal and xylophone parts in 2012.

'Dead Letters' was originally part of the 'Five Songs' series, but was still in demo form at the time I released that EP. I completed the lyrics and re-recorded most of the parts in 2012.

'Crystal Satellite' was part of the 'Six Sketches Berlin 2010' series, but I held it back for a few years and replaced the synth bass track with an electric bass.

'Minatures' was also a song from Melbourne, circa 2007 - 2008, and I stripped back some of the instrumentation and re-recorded the vocals for this version.

The album cover is the control board of an abandoned carnival ride in Berlin's Spreepark.
