1.
I've got to test it - out of the sea now I got arrested - enter a plea now Out on the ocean - let it be now Let it be now Combing the bay with opera glasses Tracing a line to you Coming to play with constellations - yeah Into the West End - coming in so alive Reach out - reach out You've got a white hair - going in - fuck it up Somehow - somehow
2.
Farthest day 03:02
On the farthest day we come - to the water And stay behind the shadows of the helicopter And you won't last on butterscotch and sugar casters Met the people in the car - through the window Your parents will divorce again - but they don't know Flying through the autumn time to awful endings And horror discord Light above the sporting fields - caster rollers And you won't laugh again you say - quite the same way Your mother's daughter She likes to go out dancing with a pretty dress on
3.
Harbor warning - people calling I heard her name I could never sleep by your cyanotype pictures I could never be so shrouded in a mystery Cause you know my game I don't want to think about it Those things you say You said there was bridge by the semaphore limits A garden with a grail Standing on the beachhead - I watched you sail And I could never sleep in a field forever A clearing with a tale You punch the headlights out - your motor fails I heard her name
4.
Polyester 02:30
Masie's in the kitchen Start alarm - man in a photo Stand in order - shout us down Breaking out of stitches Starlet cup - it's just enough Polyester - florescent light Masie's in the kitchen Start alarm - man in a photo Stand in order - shout us down Saving things for us to learn And she was stolen - start of term Solid state and it's your turn And she was taken from the last line And then you listen to someone you know And then I listen to your car when it goes And you're lost to all this dark polyester Saving things for us to learn And she was stolen - start of term Solid state and it's your turn And she was taken from the last line
5.
Come over 03:04
Come over - come over They used to hide behind the morning The vicious tunes Down by the waterside - I'm waiting To rescue you And drag you from the ocean Come over - come over They used to walk behind me all the way - Pender Street Trailing along singing songs - to get some sleep A break in the commotion A break from the broadcaster In a car northeast to you Rock star jacket and combat boots I won't run like people always do And fuck you over in a fortnight
6.
The West End 02:27
Got to wait for New Saints' Day By the gate of Angelucci’s - yeah Maggie cuts in breathing holes Upper western Elvis soul - I want to stay The West End - the West End At least I know it in the West End The West End - at least I know Blood is thin and water's clear Later on you'll disappear into a dark cloud Got to wait for New Saints' Day Maggie talks about the afterlife And how we'll pay The West End - the West End At least I know it in the West End
7.
Stand before the silent sail You said the kids have lost their way Caroline heard her mother say Witches and laughing ghosts will stay beside you Painted face for promenade You said your life was not that hard Caroline heard her father say I know a place I'll go one day and meet you All dressed up - by the stereo line You cast off - when you decide to The mirror beside you
8.
Galatea 01:28
Don't say that car won't make it Far to get you home A voice like guitars competing Down the telephone Galatea - Galatea all alone - she said Galatea - Galatea all alone Thin film in flower presses On the windowsill We don't know so she guesses Driving through the hills Galatea - Galatea all alone - she said Galatea - Galatea all alone

about

This is my first full length album since 2015's Redfern Demos.

The songs come from different places and times. I worked on them progressively over four years living in Melbourne between 2016 and 2020 while releasing singles.

'Schneller propeller' was written and partially recorded in Melbourne and Ballarat in 2016, before being gradually finished over 2018-19.

'Farthest day' and 'Set for carnival' are older songs; I have demos of them dating back to 2007-08. I recorded a first version of 'Farthest day' in Berlin around 2012, but never liked the guitar part. I re-recorded the guitar with a nylon string and remixed the vocals in 2019.

'I heard her name' was written in Berlin in 2015, and this version recorded in a freezing cold garden shed back in Melbourne in mid 2016. I made some changes to the vocals and remixed it in 2019.

'Polyester' has been around a long time. I wrote it in my flat in Heller St, West Brunswick in 2004 and recorded several demo versions, but somehow it never made it onto an album until now.

'Come over' and 'Galatea' were written and demos recorded in late 2015 in Berlin, along with 'Until I informed him of it by letter' which appeared on the 'Good day radio' single. This version of 'Galatea' was completed in late 2019.

'Award winning movie themes' is a completely new song, written and recorded in Melbourne in late 2019.
